These kalpas are different as compared with churna as their dosage quantity is smaller than churnas. Different types of churnas or mixtures of it are treated with various types of herbal juices or decoctions (bhavana) and then pills or tablets are prepared. Their dosages are small hence easily palatable. Due to ‘Bhavana’ of single or multiple herbal extraction its action is boosted. In Ayurveda it is told tha it acts as its ‘Dhatughatawa’ increases.
